Jersey Shore Landmarks

Cathleen Engelsen is a Jersey Shore staple! Her historical paintings of Jersey Shore landmarks are found in many homes in New Jersey. One little gem is “Inside Holiday Snack Bar.” To pick up the quaintness of the scene, we chose what I call my stitch frame from Fotiou. The colors and patterns work beautifully with this image!

Another one of her paintings is this sweet little watercolor of the water tower at Long Beach Island, which brings back memories for many of us. The LBI trailer park opened in 1953 and was lost in Sandy. Although the original trailer park sign is gone, Cathleen has memorialized it her artwork. For this one, we chose a soft, worn, beachy blue frame that resembles chalk paint to keep the feel of LBI going.
